For years, the Chicago Police Department has been investigating the death of 17-year-old Gakirah Barnes, who was gunned down on April 11, 2014. Barnes, a charter school graduate, was reportedly affiliated with a Gangster Disciples faction.
According to reports, Barnes was standing outside her home when she was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
