Hometown hero Zak Madell is headed to Tokyo

Paralympic Games represent culmination of years of hard work and dedication

Okotoks' own Zak Madell is set to make his fourth Paralympic appearance this summer in Tokyo.

The 34-year-old wheelchair rugby star has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2009 and has competed in the Paralympic Games in Beijing, London, and Rio de Janeiro.

Madell is one of the most experienced players on the Canadian team and is expected to play a key role in the team's quest for a medal in Tokyo.

A role model for young athletes

Madell is a role model for young athletes with disabilities.
