BTS' Suga Apologizes After DUI Arrest
K-Pop Star Faces Charges
Suga, a member of the popular boy band BTS, has apologized after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The incident occurred on August 6 when Suga was found riding an electric scooter on the streets of Seoul. Police administered a breathalyzer test, which confirmed that Suga's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.
Suga was taken into custody and has since been released on bail. He issued a statement on Wednesday apologizing for his actions and promising to take responsibility for his mistakes.
"I deeply regret my actions and apologize to all those who have been affected by my behavior," Suga said. "I will wholeheartedly cooperate with the authorities and take full responsibility for my actions."
BTS is currently on hiatus while members fulfill their mandatory military service. Suga was expected to enlist in the military later this year, but it is unclear if his DUI arrest will affect his plans.
